This item is handmade by one of the PENAN, the aboriginal semi-nomadic tribe of the Borneo Rainforest. Their goods are originally made from rattan, bamboo and native hardwood. However this natural resources are hard to get this day as the forest that sustain them are destroyed. The Penan women, who are skillful weavers, nowadays use PVC material to make these beautiful, durable and practical products.
